Blessings


I often forget that it is through the hard times of life that I have learnt the most about God's faithfulness and his love for me. In a strange way when those hard times/moments are through, I often long to be back in that place where in the end I felt closer to him than ever before. This song is so beautifully true, but I will still never fully understand the way God works.

Saviour's Day

Tomorrw is Saviour's Day, a day when you can share how you came to trust Jesus as your Saviour. Earlier this year I was baptized, and I think that is one of the first times that I've actually shared my testimony. O how I would love to share what Jesus has done in my heart more and more...He means everything to me and I want my heart to beat for His glory the rest of my days. So here's what God has done in my life the past couple of years:)...

I have been a Christian for as long as I can remember… I was baptized as an infant and am extremely thankful to my parents for raising me in a Christian home. However over the past couple of years I feel like my walk with God has become so much deeper. A year ago when I was living on campus at TWU, I was out for a usual night-time walk with my friend. We always enjoyed looking at the stars when we went for our walks. That night the stars were particularly bright and beautiful. After we had been looking up at the sky we both looked down at the same time and right there in front of us on the ground was this frosted over grass that looked like billions of sparkling diamonds! We both had the biggest smiles on our faces it brought us so much joy! It felt like God was trying to captivate my heart saying, “Tanya, just fall in love with me.” He has stolen my heart and the only reason I am up here today getting baptized is because of God’s faithful love throughout my whole life, despite my mistakes and half-heartedness in following Him. He is the one who has pursued me with His strong love, and whispered in my heart “I love you.” His love is rich and deep and it purifies and heals my heart, and because of it, for the rest of my days I really just want to learn how to give Him my all.
 This verse from Ephesians 3:17-20 has come to mean a lot to me:
“And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to HIM who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen”
